GEOTrac’s GEOVision service with satellite has a network of more than 66 low-earth satellites circumnavigating the earth. Each satellite travels at 27,500 km/hr in an orbit 800 kms above the earth. Unlike most LEO networks, Our network uses a satellite to satellite transfer network rather than a satellite to ground station network.

The advantage is a more secure data transfer. The data travels primarily over-the-air within the network rather than ground transfer.


In Polar Regions, the satellite network is the best in the world since the orbital planes of satellites are North to South vs East to West as with competing providers. This means working in Canada’s north has never been safer.                              


Near Real-Time Reporting and Messaging

Customers expect near real-time messaging from GEOTrac. Using the satellite network, customer’s need a transfer rate of data similar to what urban centres get from cellular.  Two-way text messaging on satellite allows for text- conversations between trucks or from dispatch to the fleet.

GEOTrac provides two text messaging options. On GEOVision’s satellite network, customers use a touch- screen, mobile data terminal for one-touch distress messaging, truck-to-truck email and centralized dispatching.


Custom Mapping

Track your vehicles using Google satellite imagery, industry road data or a combination of both. GEOTrac provides you with customizable maps including site and road markers, document publishing and geofencing of work areas and roads.

GEOTrac provides three-tier phone support. Customers needing Quick Start training and simple troubleshooting, can call our Customer Care Centre Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM (MT). Customers requiring administration or dispatch training, can arrange one-on-one phone sessions. We provide classroom style, webinars and over-the-phone support.
